I drove for 3 hours total to go for a several minute ride-along in a NASCAR car (Race with Rusty). I didn’t get that ride, today anyhow. When I got to Chicagoland Speedway I was told by the people that they were behind a couple of hours because only one car was working: due to accidents! Now, I didn’t ask any details about the accidents but I certainly hope it was the people learning to drive and not the professional drivers giving people rides. What a way to spend Mother’s Day: 3 hours and 130 miles of driving for nothing. At least I get to reschedule.

Honestly though, even though i didn’t get to do the ride today being able to go into the speedway like the actual racers do and get that viewpoint from pit road is pretty damn cool.
